Invitation to Participate in a Listening Circle
All members of the Bethlehem Area Moravian Churches are invited to participate in Listening Circles with your siblings in Christ.
The hoped for outcomes of the Listening Circles to be held among and within congregations include:
o To hear how participants define Biblical justice and what it looks like to them
o To hear how they have experienced injustice (racial/social) in their lives and communities
o To hear how the church might respond to injustices in their context
o To hear what is hoped for going forward for justice and racial justice work in their congregations
Listening Circles have their origin in indigenous cultures; they are not places for debate but are places for expression and community building. The PEC and the Racial Justice Team believe that listening is integral to the work for justice and healing; and that creating intentional spaces for listening is greatly needed in our time.
We will be holding two Listening Circle sessions and individuals are invited to attend either one. The format for the gatherings will be identical, so it is not necessary to attend both.
The dates are:
Saturday, January 31st at 10am at East Hills Moravian Church - 1830 Butztown Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18017 (610) 868-6481
Wednesday February 4th at 6:00pm at Edgeboro Moravian Church - 645 Hamilton Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017 (610) 866-8793
Please contact the Listening Circle Facilitators by January 28th to sign up to attend either by calling either of the above phone numbers or emailing –
